[New report] The State of OT Security and the Cyber Supply Chain | SPONSORED
In March 2021, the Enterprise Strategy Group completed a research survey of 150 senior information technology (IT), cybersecurity, and operational technology (OT) professionals directly knowledgeable about their organization’s OT security practices. Organizations represented were from verticals in the retail supply chain, from manufacturers, to transportation (and AR in transportation) and logistics companies, all the way to the retailers themselves.
Some of the ESG findings:
- Two-thirds (66%) of organizations reported known or suspected successful OT attacks in the last 12 months. Nearly half of those organizations (44%) experienced a disruption of business processes leading to cancelled orders, financial penalties, missed deliveries, or other downstream impacts.
- IT or security management was cited by 70% of respondents as the team that leads the management of supply chain risk. But a significant percentage say manufacturing management, procurement, manufacturing engineering, and plant operations are at least involved. The lack of clarity around responsibilities and communication across these groups is a top challenge.
