Mobility – an important topic at CES 2021

This year, I attended CES 2021 with one goal – to find out about things that could make our life easier, better, and more sustainable. Because e-mobility is about so much more than transportation, my focus on this shortlist is centered on this topic. E-mobility and autonomous driving have the potential to reduce the cost of living, improve quality of life, and give people more time each day to spend on activities they care about. E-mobility will create a new way of living and will reshape the world as we know it, so that’s why I believe this is one of the topics we should all care about.

Here are my picks:

  • Keynote presented by the General Motors Chairman and CEO Mary Barra. The presentation is focused on GM’s transformational strategy to advance mobility for communities worldwide. It gives us a glimpse of what that’ll look like for Cadillac, GMC, and Chevrolet. The recording is available here.

GM electric vehicles of the future

  • The first solar electric vehicle for the masses presented at CES 2021 – Sion. A spacious electric car with a range of up to 255 kilometers that charges itself through the power of the sun.sion electric car
  • Smart and climate-friendly solutions presented by Bosch during CES 2021

  • Caterpillar’s presentation about Autonomous Vehicles. Did you know that Caterpillar has fleets of real autonomous machines doing real work on real mine sites around the world? Here is how they do it. Also, more information on Caterpillar’s microsite dedicated to CES 2021.

And because we’re still in the middle of a pandemic, I thought you would like to know this news shared during CES 2021. The first UK clinical trials of a nasal spray proven to kill 99.9% of the coronavirus that causes Covid-19 began on January 11th. The SaNOtize Nitric Oxide Nasal Spray (NONS) is designed to kill the virus in the upper airways, preventing it from incubating and spreading to the lungs. More info here

As there are still tons of resources available on demand that we intend to watch in the upcoming days and there is also one more day to attend CES 2021, this list will be updated.
