Karl-Michael Winter, Vice President Global Engineering & R&D
Mr. Karl-Michael Winter, an electrical engineer by profession, has been with PROCESS-ELECTRONIC, now UPC MARATHON, for more than 30 years, first in the development and implementation of programmable logic controllers and SCADA systems, then as Managing Director in Germany and France and heading product development.
In 2007, when PROCESS-ELECTRONIC became a member of the United Process Controls Group, a NITREX company, he was promoted to Vice President R&D for UPC. In 2019, with the reorganization of NITREX, he became Global Vice President Engineering and R&D for the entire NITREX Group.
Mr. Winter is a member of the board of AWT, the German Association for Heat Treatment and Materials Technology, and serves on technical committees on heat treatment-related topics such as sensor technology and thermo-chemical process development.
Mr. Winter is also a member of the editorial advisory board of PROZESSWÄRME, a leading German journal for thermoprocess technology. He has authored and co-authored numerous articles, book chapters and papers on heat treatment related topics and has been a well-known speaker at national and international heat treatment conferences for almost two decades.
